TOWN OF JOHNSTOWN β A 44-year-old Delavan man who died in a motorcycle crash in rural Rock County on Sunday has been identified.
Nathaniel D. Sharpe died due to injuries from the crash, that was reported around 6:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a release from the Rock County Medical Examinerβs Office.
Sheriffβs deputies from Rock and Walworth counties responded to the report of a single motorcycle crash on East County Highway A, east of North County Highway M, in the town of Johnstown in Rock County.
Sharpeβs Honda motorcycle was eastbound on East County Highway A when the driver lost control on a curve and struck a mailbox and a power pole, and the driver was ejected. Sharpe was not wearing a helmet and speed was a factor in the crash, according to the sheriffβs office.
Sharpe was pronounced dead on the scene.
The Rock County Medical Examinerβs Office, Rock County Sheriffβs Office Crash Reconstruction Team and Lakeside Fire/EMS all assisted with the investigation.
The name of the driver has not been released by the Rock County Medical Examinerβs Office. The crash investigation is ongoing.
