Billy Bob Grahn uses a feather that represents his father, who served in World War II, as part of a ceremony at his home in Janesville in 2018. The smoke is a method of spiritual cleansing.

JANESVILLE β€” The words of praise and gratitude were overflowing Monday evening as a grateful community observed the passing of Billy Bob Grahn at his visitation and funeral at Apfel Wolfe Funeral Home in Janesville.

For decades, Grahn, a member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, spent decades advocating for Native Americans and their heritage. He was also the founder of Red Road House in Janesville dedicated to serving those with an alcohol addiction. His work resulted in hundreds of people achieving sobriety.
