JANESVILLE β One of four alleged victims of former Beloit Memorial High School teacher and coach Andre DeKok on Monday identified the former boys volleyball and swimming coach as the man who sexually assaulted him years ago.

The victim, whose name is not being published, testified in Rock County Circuit Court during a preliminary hearing to assess whether there was enough evidence to hold DeKok over for trial. After the testimony, DeKokβs attorney, Josh Uller, moved to have the case dismissed, but Rock County Commissioner Jack Hoag found sufficient evidence to advance the case and scheduled an arraignment for Jan. 20.
DeKok is facing three felony charges β child enticement with sexual contact, sexual assault of a student by school staff and child enticement while exposing himself.
The 62-year-old DeKok appeared in court in person for the first time since charges were filed on Nov. 19. He is being held in the Green County Jail. His bond was set at $500,000.
DeKok was a science teacher at Beloit Memorial High School for 30 years before retiring in 2021. He also was a boys volleyball coach at BMHS and a swim coach at the middle school level while also assistant at high school swim meets.
All of the alleged victims were former athletes that he coached, according to court documents.
The investigation started in September 2024 after the parents of a former student athlete called police to report that their son had been sexually assaulted by DeKok when he was 15 or 16. The second alleged victim was 19 at the time of his incident. In November, police met with two more alleged victims. Prosecutors and police continue to search for more potential victims.
If convicted of sexual assault of a student by school staff, DeKok could be sentenced to up to six years in prison. Each of the child enticement charges carry maximum prison sentences of up to 25 years in prison.
